An “A” meet is a competitive swim meet against another team in our current division (D). A meets consist of the top swimmers from both teams and are held on Saturdays in the summer (June and July). Swimmers are allowed to swim a maximum of two individual events and two relay events.

A “B” meet is a semi-competitive swim meet that enables swimmers aged 14 and under to continue developing their skills and practice new strokes. B meets are held on Wednesday evenings at different clubs. They run similar to an A meet. Check the schedule for dates and times.

Swimmers must achieve the 2026 Tri-County Qualifying time for their age/stroke to swim at Tri-County. Check our site for the 2026 times.

Swimmers should wear a swimsuit, swim cap, and goggles.

Swimmers should also bring:

  • Water
  • Towel
  • Extra pair of goggles
  • Clothing and shoes in the event the coaches opt for land exercises due to weather or some other circumstance

Swim caps are not required, however, we strongly encourage all swimmers wear/bring a cap to practice. It helps swimmers get used to putting on their own cap, and they can show off their individual style.

Yes. Swimmers will receive a Cherry Valley swim cap as a part of registration. Personalized (last name) caps are also available for purchase. Check the suits and caps page.

Please let the coaches if you will miss practice or have a planned vacation. We recognize that kids have competing commitments.

Not necessarily, however, the coaches do their best to have as many kids as possible swim at least 1 event in each meet. Always check the meet sheets that are distributed via email the day before the meet.

Team suits are not required; however, when swimmers wear them, it creates a unified, polished look that reflects our team spirit. Swimmers should wear a suit that reflect our team colors. (Black, Red)

Goggles are a personal choice, however, Speedo, TYR, etc, are top choices. Mirrored lenses are best since it blocks the sun while kids are swimming backstroke. Swimmers should always have a backup pair in their bag since they can snap/break. Check with the coaches if you have additional questions.
